rajendra82 (698), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Aug 16, 2008 The body was clear and golden peach colored, with an ample carbonation forming a one finger thick and durable head. The nose was clean and displayed a combination of noble hops and Munich malts. The taste was quite a bit more hoppy than I was anticipating from the smell. The hops were spicy and floral in character, and were backed by a Festbier like malty but drinkable backbone. The body was creamy and smooth, and the aftertaste was herbal and marred by a slight metallic note. An enjoyable and affordable offering from this brewery that seems to be growing on me with each release. Trev (849), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA Aug 14, 2008 Pours a dark golden amber with a thin white head.
Aroma is light grassy hop, grainy pale malt.
Flavour is full bodied toasty malt, some earthy-grassy hop combinations. Slight alc sourness in the finish.
A good strong lager with only minor flaws.
vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Aug 14, 2008 Pours clear orange / copper with a quickly diminishing off-white head. The aroma has toasted nutty malt, some caramel, lager smoothness, some earthy hops and green onions. Medium lightly biting body with minor sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with very toasted molt, dirty earthy hops and peppery spice. The finish has a lot more earthy dirty hops. Okay, but not my fave from the Coney Island line. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Aug 13, 2008 Name: Coney Island Sword Swallower Hoppy Lager

JK (2944), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Aug 9, 2008 Corn and chemicals. Yellow color, harsh alcohol on the palate. Pretty bad. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Aug 8, 2008 Bomber. Clear dark gold with a fluffy white head. Biscuity and herbal nose, light white pepper and a touch of alcohol. Fairly full body. An initial smack of alcohol mellows into a peppery, herbal bitterness on top of a strong bready flavor. Alcohol pops up again late. Pretty good. Radek Kliber (3912), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada Aug 7, 2008 Bottle 650 ml
Appearance: Amber gold brew with thick creamy mid sized head. Slight haze. Nose: Heavy aroma , toasty with strong caramel sweetness, spicy citric hop backing. Flavor/Palate : Full bodied. Continuity of aroma. Caramel sweet malt spiced up with spiced hops of citric nature. Its set up works better if you compare to Coney Lager. More substance fills well making pleasant drinkable brew. Well done American rendering of strong lager.
Beershine (2677), Hue, Vietnam Aug 6, 2008 Glistens golden in the afternoon sunlight, crowned by a slim but sturdy white head. Uber-fresh grain aroma signals a sturdy malt backbone. Cereal is brightened by lively, leafy hop. Very nice crisp dry finish. Alcohol is noticeable--a punchy brew. Long-lasting hoppiness at end. We really need more hopped up lagers like this!
