Coney Island Sword Swallower Steel Hop Lager

22 oz Bomber from Mint in Ttown. I got a huge head from this pour. The hoppy flavor came wafting into my nose. Very flavorful and it went well with chinese food. I liked this beer!

Another odd lager from the Shmaltz folks. This 22 oz bomber pours a hazy medium orange with a small offwhite head. Faint lacing. Aroma is resinous pine hops with a hint of lemon rind. Thin on the palate. Taste has bitter and coarse earthy hops with hints of lemon rind and pine. Not a lot of balance here. Not one I would care to try again.

Dark gold pour with small head. Nose was earth, grass and hops. Flavor was malts and hops...not bad.

Blah. Not terrible like most of the style. but not very good. Aroma was average. Earthy hops in both the aroma and taste. The pour was a nasty dirty looking blond with no head. Nice carbonation. Had a dusty old flavor.

Bottle from Vintage Cellars. Nice dark golden color with a small head. smell was grassy, and has a bitter after taste.. Very well balanced not too overpowering with hops. also had a nice caramel sweetness. The more I drank the more it grew on me. Cool label too

Good beer. This tasting was from a 22 oz. bomber, and I’m pretty much rating this on the warmer temp characteristics. Smell is of light hops and something like greek yogurt, or any live cultured dairy, but with a light herbal grassy quality. Flavor is the same but in a balanced and smooth presentation. Funk sedate farmhouse comes toward the end. Really interesting brew and style. When it was cold it tasted like and APA, then it warmed and changed. 2008 22 oz.

Pours a hazy yellowish orange with a small white head. Nose of citrus hops. Taste is very crisp with a malty back. Not bad and very drinkable.

Not great. Pours plae with little head, aroma is a bit funky. Flavor is hops and no finish, needs a backbone.
