coyotehunter (542), , Michigan, USA Dec 16, 2008 Bomber. Good nose of peppery and citrus hops, a little pine and grass in there as well.
pours a pretty amber yellow with a good head and lacing on the glass. taste of hops, malt, pepper, and a hint of orange, a a slight metal background. a little bitter and slightly dry on the finish. this one gets a thumbs up as far as lagers go. not bad. esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Dec 14, 2008 Golden yellow with a medium white head, slowly fading. Aroma of citrus, toasted malt, cereal grains and bread. Taste of toasted malt, citrus and alcohol. Finish is semi bitter and a bit strange. Perhaps I am suppose to feel like I downed a sword. A steel hop lager? I would rather have a steel hopped ale, but hey it was not too bad, especially for the price as I found it on closeout. Hopefully the problem with rate beer not accepting apostrophes ends soon... IrishBoy (2685), Bakersfield, California, USA Dec 13, 2008 Bomber from Country Club Liquors. Nose of floral, orangey citrus hops. Hazy yellow with a small yellowish head. Flavor is bitterness tempered with lemons, kind of like a lighter IPA. Finish is slightly bitter. BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA Dec 13, 2008 Bottle. Poured amber with a creamy off-white head that left light lace. Hoppy aroma with a light malt backing. The flavor finds hoppy citrus with a caramel background. Medium body, medium bitterness throughout, smooth texture. Pretty decent. tupalev (2605), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 11, 2008 Bottle shared with Blankboy after everyone left after the tasting. Medium yellow, small white head. Nice aroma - sharp hops, light malt, toasty. Good taste - hops are quite nice over the light body. A good hoppy lager with a nice fresh malt taste. willblake (2160), Belcamp, Maryland, USA Dec 8, 2008 20081208 Bomber from Spirits on Sunset. hazy golden color with a small white head. Aroma is light and fruity with crisp apple notes, just cut apples, not the juice or musty cider, fresh grape, light graininess, hay, celery tops. Body is medium to full with light, coating eff and a biting finishing astringency. Celery also in flavor, cut grass, apple skins, grassy hop burps. Distant, oceany brine. Long lingering hop bitterness on the back of the palate reminds of eating bitter greens. Unusual stuff but I like it. demdeac40 (238), Etowah, North Carolina, USA Dec 8, 2008 Pours a nice golden color with a frothy white head. Nice hoppy aroma backed by some malty sweetness. Loses me with the flavor. Heavy hop but not much balance or direction. Not balanced as the nose would indicate. Tmoney99 (4656), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Dec 5, 2008 Bomber from World of Beer. Poured amber color with an average frothy white head that was lasting and produced good lacing. Good moderate to heavy hoppy and malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth sticky texture. Moderate to heavy bittersweet flavor with with a moderate bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Very good brew.
