In fact, when I blind tasted it, I thought it was Lenny R.I.P.A. but off a bit. If all lagers were like this , I’d drink them every day. nuplastikk (1256), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 6, 2008 500ml bomber bottle. Cloudy golden-tan color. 8 hop varieties in a lager? Interesting, but what the hell, this is 2008. The hops definitely dominate, but in a fairly enjoyable way. Pretty much what every sub-standard Eastern European strong lager could only dream of being. Strong in alcohol, relatively "classic" lager taste, but with a hop and malt bill that blows them out of the water. Good stuff. crazyvin (1255), New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 10, 2009 Clear gold body thin white head. Not much in the aroma here. Nice sweet malt notes although there was some corn notes. A good hop profile that had some pine notes to it. A crisp overall presence Smooth finish. An okay beer that need a little more to it. durhambeer (1241), Durham, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 17, 2008 Draft. Dark golden/light amber pour. Interesting beer that doesn’t quite seem to know what it’s going for. Tasted more like an American pale ale to me. Did not seem abundantly hoppy. Somewhat grassy and sweet. Some flowery notes. Just okay overall. Zinister (1207), Houston, Texas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 14, 2009 Dark gold pour with small head. Nose was earth, grass and hops. Flavor was malts and hops...not bad. SDalkoholic (1198), Chula Vista, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 17, 2009 Bottle from BevMo: Liquid is a crystal clear honey golden color with a thick fluffy topping of head. Aroma is faint and hard for me to pick up any scents other than what little hops are present. The flavor is bitter with a heavy serving of hops but also caries a strong malt profile which balances it out quite nice. There is some after taste of bread and perhaps mint? | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 13, 2008 Bottle. Poured amber with a creamy off-white head that left light lace. Hoppy aroma with a light malt backing. The flavor finds hoppy citrus with a caramel background. Medium body, medium bitterness throughout, smooth texture. Pretty decent. jcr (1192), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 12, 2009 Draft. Small, frothy, white head that diminishes fairly quickly. Pale amber body. Hops dominate the flavor of this lager, yet the aroma is very light.. Hints of toasted grain and herbs. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. The finish is lightly sweet and moderately to heavily bitter. The lingering bitterness does not totally cover up some malty huskiness, but the texture is mostly lager-like — medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Very nice bitterness, but not much else for everything that’s in this beer.
