Sep 22, 2009 Hazy deep blond color; small head. It has a nice cereals aroma and flavor, a quite good malt flavor too, and reasonable body; and of course strong bitterness, with quite a lot of hop oils. Not exciting, but a solid brew.

Jul 30, 2008 (22oz bottle) Crystal clear apple juice body topped by large off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, bread, some herbal, spice, light apple. Taste is medium sweet, herbal/pine, some bread, trace of alcohol. Pretty bitter. Medium body, light stickiness, fairly drinkable.

Jul 5, 2009 A Mes rate. Draught at the Rake.
An attractive orange gold colour with a thin white head and plenty of lace. Good fruity hops with a pleasant biscuit malt base. Nice and dry. Good bitterness with a faint resinous sting in the finish. Very straight forward but very pleasant overall.

Dec 31, 2008 22oz bottle-pours an off white head and gold color. Aroma is mild west coast I.P. lager (Amarillo and Simcoe), secondary medium malt-caramel. Taste is balanced hops and malt with initial spice/lemon/resin, then a solid light/medium malt backbone follows. Thanks jwc215 for sharing this.

Feb 16, 2009 Bottle from utobeer in Blackfriars. Alround rating: Good pale lager malts, biscuity yet richer than usual, piney citrus lightly herbal hop over balance it to the bitter side. Excellent stuff!

Jun 28, 2008 Bottle... Clear golden ale with a big, creamy, white head. Excellent retention. Spicy and peppery, metallic nose. Medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. Medium to heavy metallic bitterness. Lengthy, bitter, nickel/steel finish. Appropriately named!

Jul 28, 2008 Pours a transparent deep golden bronze with a thin, spotty-lacing white head. Aroma of lightly sweet pale malts and a nice, fresh assertive Saaz hop character. Starts with a nice light sweetness and good noble bittering and flavor hop balance before a crisp, smooth finish. A nicely-flavored, quite drinkable high-gravity lager.
