| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 14, 2008 22 oz bottle. Pale golden colour. Aroma has a little bit of sweet maltiness. It’s on the light side but with an interesting sugary/candyish sweetness. Earthy/woody hop aroma. The flavour is a little bit sweet and lightly peppery. A lightly noble flavour on the back. Ultimately it comes across like an upscale malt liquor... a little bit muddled to me. Cornfield (4980), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 10, 2008 This starts out okay, pouring a deep gold body with a creamy head and plenty of lace. The aroma is grainy and sweet balanced by a grassy, floral bitterness having a touch of citrus rind. The flavor begins malty and smooth but the hops from the nose transform into a hit of metallica. (Are those the steel hops?) The latter is retained in the finish, which isn’t a very enjoyable finish. Still, not too bad of an attempt at a stronger lager.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 27, 2008 Deep golden color with a moderate, bigger bubbled head of light beige bubbles that diminishes slowly to a ring around the glass. Hints of herbal hops with some caramel and a bit of alcohol in the nose. Mild sweet toasted malt in the front. Herbal hops in the middle Touches of alcohol let you know this is a formidable lager. Fairly dry finish with a touch of pepper and bitterness. Linger is slow and a mild toasted malt flavor gradually returns. Palate is crisp and clean. A strong oktoberfest type brew. A good fall brew.
