Bottle. Amber color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted and had good lacing. Light balanced aroma. Light to medium body with a slick texture. Medium balanced flavor with a small bitter finish of moderate duration.

Pours a golden brownish color with a nice head and ok lacing. The aroma was hard to pick up, some floral aspects over a malty (bready?) sweetness. The flavor was excellent, seemed to include floral (label says geranium, works for me), yeasty, and clovey-wheaty aspects. While nothing indicates there is a wheat fraction in the malt, perhaps the "spicey hops" and yeasty character led my taster that way? Really, a very drinkable and quite tasty beer from a style I don’t normally find too fancy. If it were not an import and so expensive, I’d drink, more of this! Perfect light mouthfeel, almost like a blonde ale, with a good balance to the flavor.

From the bottle.

Pours a warm amber. The aroma is grassy hops and a lovely gentle breaded malt. The flavor and mouthfeel both fit the style beautifully, softly bitter hops, on the grassy side of course, rounded in by gentle well-balanced malts. This is really a nice bitter.

On the negative side, it’s hard to justify here in the US where a pint bottle of this costs the same as a pint bottle of Rochefort 8.

Why do I keep buying these overpriced crappy English pints? $4.49+ tax. 2 mos passed BB date. All I smelll is 50/50 skunk and grass. Tastes like a watery Heinies or Becks with some sweetness and a splash of perfume. Another waste of $.

I enjoyed this bitter, since it was one of the only I have been able to procure in the past year or so. Pours thin, with pasty white head, body is similar to the fat on the edge of truffle pate, heehee, moving on...the flavor is strongly bitter, very pleasant. However, I really hated the aroma that wafter out of the glass when poured, cross between too-old pilsener, and Czechvar.

Pours amber with thicker off-white head. Good citrus hop aroma and flavor with a minor maltiness... and it delivers on the bitter with a nice long finish.

From a 1pt. 9oz. narrow neck brown bottle with a nice blurb about the bitter on the left side of label that I found to be a pretty accurate description, a coded lot/freshness date on the lower right side of label. Made a good appearance, poured a clear amber hued golden with a fluffy, bubbly topped white head that settled into a thin, bubbly lacing, good carbonation. Had a orangey and grapefruity malty nose, tropical sweet fruity as well, and a spicy, resiny, earthy hoppiness. A crisp, textured, smooth medium bodied mouth feel, very good drinkability. Crisp tropical fruity malty taste, nicely sweet from sour tropical fruits, a tasty spicy, resiny and earthy hop bitterness, rolling and lingering in the palate, a graininess showing towards the end and a dry tropical, grainy, malty finish. I enjoyed this English Bitter from Conistion quite a bit, tasty, good balance between hops and malts, one of the better bitters I’ve tried.
