Pours a clear, medium amber color with a rocky white head. Aroma is a generous blast of malt. Initial hop profile is overridden by a nice malty brew. A light palate makes this a drinkable bitter.

500ml bottle pours amber iwth a short offwhite head that fades to a film but laces the glass after that. Aromas of light caramel malts, some floral and a touch of citrus hops. Flavor is briefly hoppy then fades to caramel malts. The finish is somewhat bitter and dry. Palate is medium bodied and pretty well carbonated. A nice session brew I think.

From a 500 ml bottle. Nice warm golden coloured ale with a small bubbly off white head. Small amounts of gentle carbonation visible. Very English style malt aromas , but nicelly done and surprisingly fresh smelling for an example all the way over here in Oregon. Taste is a litle bit hoppy to begin, but almost immediatlly nice caramel/buiscuity malts take over, finishes off fruity . Nice smooth mouthfeel real silky. A very nice example of the style..certainlly not a "big" beer but a tasty one and its low alcohol lends well to it being a great session choice..if one could afford it at the price.

I think the problem was that I drank this after I drank Harviestoun’s Bitter and Twisted.I found this beer to be a very polite, smooth, nice color, and good boy beer.It didn’t much of a head or foam, was pleasant tasting, and it seemed you could not be distracted from doing something while drinking this beer.,like reading a good novel. It said it was am award winning beer on the label.I guess it must have won the best beer at the mum’s festival.I would have rather spent my hard earned money buying the cheaper New Castle beer, which is widely available here than spending it on this. But for all you beer lovers who don’t want to be distracted or want to please yer mum, this is the one for you!!

Bottle - not sure what happened. The aroma was mostly skunky. As soon as the cap came off I smelled it. The body was a dark gold. The head was awful looking. Like dish soap. The flavor did not have near the skunk to it. It was malty up front with a nice dry finish. I was really looking forward to this beer and was disappointed. I’d had the cask version and it was terrific ... this one, not so much.

Had this at a beer and cheese tasting. It was paired with Sharpham Rustice - Devon. Not much in th eway of a head or lacing. Aroma is good with a good bit of citrus hops. This would make a decent session beer on a hot summer day.
