All hop flavor. Again grassy and floral. Finished quite dry, but linger a touch. Overall not a bad pint at all. TheGrandMaster (1869), Auckland, New Zealand
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 14, 2005 Poured from the bottle, a light brown with a large frothy head, quite carbonated. Strong hoppy aroma, hints of fruit, maybe plum. Favour is of grassy hops with a nice flowery aftertaste. Carbonated in the mouth again though. Sweet at the front of the tounge and very bitter at the back in the aftertaste. A good mouth feel, smooth. SkyinBrian (429), Collinsville, Illinois, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 13, 2005 Not bottle or cask, just kegged. Anyway, Pour is a copper brown with a weak head. Smell is quite earthy with English hops making the aroma quite nice. Taste caught me a bit offguard, as it was fruity malts coupled with earthy hops. Very different from anything that I’ve had in a while, but very much an English bitter in character. Something to drink when I’m not in the mood for a hop monster. Very nice bitter. yalnikim (782), Wellington, New Zealand

Pours a bright pale orange-gold with a pathetic little oily head that disappears. Interesting aroma of sea breeze, damp earth and hay. Nice, mildly sweet, juicy malt flavour with a good orangey hop bitterness through the middle and a clean palate to finish. Medium-light mouthfeel. By far the best beer I’ve tried in a clear bottle, so far. Appears to have managed to stay out of the light.

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 30, 2005 Pours clear sparkling reddish-amber (maple syrup) with nearly no head, leaves no skim or lacing. Aroma is distinctive, notes of forest, juniper, pineapple mingle with the wonderfully floral and herbal hops. No trace of malt in the nose. Taste, again, is unique in my experience. Hops reign supreme with an initial bitterness that’s not at all unpleasant. It’s thin but complex. There are flavors -- marigold, pineapple, citrus, tar, even a bit of kerosene, forest mould, mushroom, chamomile, woodruff and bergamot (the flavoring of Earl Grey tea) -- that would be masked in maltier brews. The mouthfeel was thin, but seemed appropriate for the hoppy character. More fizzy and refreshing than watery. spikee (96), Providence, Rhode Island, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 21, 2005 Pours a dark gold with a frothy head and plenty of lacing. Thin bodied with a crisp, unnatural bitterness. More like a wheat beer with an artificial hop taste inserted late in the brew process. The whole thing left a lot to be desired - it felt thin, watery, and unbalanced. Wouldn’t buy again. hammenlind (738), Sundbyberg, Sweden

Sweet fruity nose. Malty and refreshing flavour. Notes of hops. Light bitter finish with small unpleasant hints of wet cardboard.
