Part of an English Bitter tasting in Ocean NJ on 10/06/2007. Light copper color with a small fluffy, but quickly dissipating head. Slight floral notes in nose. First taste gives hint of british-style malt character that never really plays out. This hint is crushed by a quick, sharp, centered hop attack, which disappears as quickly as it came. Mouthfeel is watery and unexciting with the exception of the interesting hop attack.

Reminds me of an English style IPA. Sparkling clear, deep golden ale. Small, creamy, white head with cascading lacework. Malty, spicy nose with notes of dried flowers, evergreen and citrus fruit. Well-hopped with plenty of bite. A touch bitter and astringent. Medium-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Short, bone-dry astringent finish.

Nice head with great carbonation. Leaves some decent lacing. Color is a cloudy amber orange. Aroma dominated by hops (as is should be) with a little bit of spice. Flavor is dry and bitter and quite good. Decent balance with the malt in the body. Not a real strong bitter taste which will appear to those who are not big fans of bitters. Finish is bitter and dry and leaves a good aftertaste in the mouth. A quality bitter that hits all the marks.

(bottle) Medium-dark amber with almost no head. Floral hops aroma jumps up to greet you--you don't even have to lift the glass. Strong enough malt backbone supporting the spicy hops.

Darker colour with a thin head. Lots of hops in the nose that follows with good amounts of hops in the taste. Thin body. At first this beer starts and finishes out strong with hops. In the middle tho, it kinda falls off and at first I wasnt too sure what I was getting but as the drink continued I was definately able to detect more malts, sweetness and all around dryness in the middle.

Slightly hazy, copper colored body with a thin, lingering, off-white head of foam. Hoppy, hay-like aroma with some good malt notes. Medium body with low carbonation and a nice, smooth and creamy mouthfeel. The flavor is malty sweet underneath the strong, slightly bitter tasting hops. The finish is quick and hoppy, almost dry. A nice bitter and a great session ale.

Pours a golden color with light head. Mild malt, bread aroma. The taste is interesting. No lengthy flavors to ponder. The flavors are quick-a subtle citrus/flowery start, a malty middle, and a bitter, dry finish. Wham-bam-thank-you-mam, the taste is gone. Really not a bad bitter in the English tradition. Of course, being an American microbrew drinker, my tastes would probably be considered uncivilized and course; I prefer bold flavors and aromas. However this is a very drinkable beer, and I can appreciate its subtleties. I'd like to try it on tap in a proper pint glass.

Vey nice bread and light spice aroma. Cloudy golden color. Lots of carbonation. Flavor is malty with a medicine taste. Dry on the palate, also bitter but not like and real English bitter, like I have had in England.
