Smooth, a bit malty, easy-drinking. The punch is in the finish, where all the hops arrive from the corners of the moth to dance on your tongue. This is a beer I’d love to spend all night drinking, too bad I had a plane to catch! sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA

A pint pulled at the brewery’s pub, The Black Bull Inn in Coniston itself (lake District). A shame the pint was pulled through a sparkler, taking a long time to settle to an amber with a tight white foamy head. A malty aroma with a strong flowery hop presence. A good bitter palate all the way through, flowery hops with an earthy malt background. ElGaucho56 (393), USA

Nice body, endless head, crystal clear gold, just a smooth sipping bitter, no more no less. davegore (202), liverpool, Merseyside, England

Golden coloured and hoppy on the palate, and a real good session bitter. I drank more than a few pints of this and no hangover in the morning!
