Cask Conditioned at The Black Bull, Coniston, Cumbria. Light Golden amber with full head. Particularly hoppy spicy session bitter, refreshing and understated. Nicely balanced maltiness with a fresh barley note. An outstanding bitter.

Cask. Badger Bar, Rydal. Light amber color. Light hoparoma. Firm hopbitter flavor. Herbal, mustard, grassy. Fairly thin and absolutely no rest sweetness. Long hopbitter finish. Nice session ale with loads of flavor, also fairly complex.

On tap. Pours an inviting cloudy gold with a generous head. The aroma is a tad weak: it’s hard to pick out any specific scent from the lot. Flavors of citrus fruit and berry balance out a decent amount of hops, but the mouthfeel is very thin and leaves a lot to be desired. Worth a try, but don’t go out of your way for it.

Draught at the Old Toad: Very nice English bitter. Mild aroma of fruit, butter, some bitter floral hops. Very smooth taste, caramel, light hops, a small amount of darker hops give it a nice bitter taste, and buttery notes and mild hops round out the beer. Smooth, crisp, excellent flavor.

Hand pull - deep golden color with quickly dissipating off-white head. Not much aroma. Fairly mildly bitter. Clean with spicy hops. Nice creamy mouthfeel.
