I know I’ve had the original version before because my brother bought me it and a Bluebird glass for Christmas last year. But I failed to rate it. Oops. This is golden with a thin white head. Nice Mount Hood hop aroma. Some pale malt and some citrus fruit aroma. Good in mouth with nice malts balancing the hops. Nicely balanced juicy malt and then hoppy, but not too hoppy, finish. Extremely drinkable. Would like to have this on cask in a pub on an autumn day after a walk and I have a feeling I would sink at least half a dozen pints of this. Not exceptional, but really drinkable. thewolf (5827), Kolding, Denmark

Pours a clear golden yellow with a small creamy white head that turns into a thin film. Aroma is lightly hoppy, some pine appearing. Okay round mouthfeel. Flavour is light bitter, grassy, pine hops give good dryness. Fresh and light. bu11zeye (5621), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 23, 2005 Bottle. Smells quite nice, some flowery aromatic, slightly pine-sappy nose. Flavour feels a bit diluted or something. Lightly sweet to start, hoppy, with some tea-like qualties and some citrus. Failry malty aswell. imdownthepub (5177), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England

As the standard Bluebird is one of my favourite beers I had high hopes for this, but its really been dumbed down for another market, sweet, malty and really quite dull, not a patch on the original. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 9, 2009 Tap at Ginger Man. pale goden beer with a thick sticky white head. Aroma is quite light. A touch of UK pale malt and not much else at all. Flavour is especially bland. Soft crackery malt, low carbonation and a reasonably creamy texture but it still come across as a bit watery. Crackery with a light earthy bitterness. Meh.
