Thirteen years later I drank the beer, which was amber with a white head. The Aroma was sour and apply, reminiscent of a scrumpy. Plenty of sourness in the taste along with malt and a rather metallic bitterness. I enjoyed the beer but have a marginal preference for the mountain. Papsoe (15103), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 23, 2006 Nose is hoppy and fresh with some ginger. Pours medium amber with some sediment. Flavour is full-bodied with plenty of bitterness and some balancing sweet berry malt. Finishes long and dry. Another great northern ale. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 28, 2006 Dang, but I’m feeling like an old man...what’s the lifespan of an American Caucasian male, 76 or so? Yep, I’ve reached middle age...that means I’m an old man, now...and this must be the beer for me...
Dark look to it, amber to red, it seems, with a nice head, though surely dissipating...looks good enough, though.
Rich, malty, fruity aroma...alert and alive, and I like it! Wow!
Taste: a blast of the same, rich malt, juicy fruit, ...yum...quite an enjoyable beverage. Fullish body, long finish, and with an unfaultable flavor.
Yum, dang, but I keep liking it, as long as I’m drinking it. Maybe you will, too.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 21, 2006 From a 50cl. narrow neck brown bottle with a blurb on the left side of the label.
Made a good appearance, poured a cloudy amber with a foamy pale tannish/white head that settled into a rocky, foamy cake-like lacing, minimal amount of sticking, good carbonation.
Had a wild yeasty, earthy and sweet malty nose with hints of spice.
A crisp, carbonated smooth medium bodied mouth feel, good drinkability.
Crisp caramelized malts and wild yeasty taste followed by an earthy hoppiness, quick biting bitterness, a spicy alcohol warmth and a dryish yeasty and sugary maltiness in the finish with a soft lingering earthiness.
I personally like the beers from Coniston Brewing and I found this to be an interesting old ale, not the best one out there, but still very tasty.
