| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 6, 2009 Bottle. Pours a coppery amber with a medium sized head and lots of little bubbles on the side of the glass. Aromas are weak... a bit of malty sweetness, a little bit of an apple juice edge, and some grassiness. Flavor is similar... a fairly malty center with a bit of bitter hops around the edges and a thin palate. It’s fine enough, but just not very interesting, especially for an old ale. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 23, 2009 Clear amber with a sizable cream colored head. Good amount of lacings. Aroma is somewhat sour apples. Taste is astringent, some brett like flavors, mildly bitter hops. Not much going on here. An O.K. English pub beer. I paid about $5 for this beer and I would be better off drinking almost any random West Coast micro and at about half the price. Drinkabilty is good due to the under 5% abv. Nose is light caramel, bready malt, flowery hops, and dried fruit. Taste is hoppy and grassy with more bready malts, caramel, light toffee, dried fruit, touch of honey, and toffee. Body is light medium and has a creamy carbonation. Ends with more bitter hops, caramel, light toffee and honey, citrus, flowers, and tea notes. Grovlam (3810), Copenhagen, Denmark
