Ernest (4178), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jun 25, 2005 Draught, Ft. Collins.
Head is mostly lasting.
Body is dark amber.
Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (apricot).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Aubrey (2554), Denver, Colorado, USA May 1, 2005 Very similar in color to Craic; less lace/head, though. Pretty big sweetness -- light roast, curious caramel (hint of sugary Boston baked beans), and some chalky cocoa. Very mild bitterness (not enough, IMO, to balance the sweetness). Some sweet bread dough and a bit o’ herbs. Decent beer, but sweetness was a little droning.
