Aroma is strong roasted barley, some smoky notes. Flavor is mostly malt, very roasty, very full tasting. I found the palate to be very lively for a stout, it makes the body seem thinner than it actually is. Overall a very drinkable stout. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 22, 2009 Pours mostly black with a medium lived light tan head. Smell is nice and roasty with coffee and dark maple syrup aromas. Taste is roasty and coffee like with a touch of maple like sweetness in the flavor and a decent balancing bitterness. Medium to full body and normal carbonation. Flavor is fairly full and rich, surprisingly, and this definitely wasn’t bad at all. Dervock (183), Emu plains, Australia
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 20, 2009 The beer pours to a wonderfully tanned head of fine bubbles sitting on a very rich looking beer.
This is a very drinkable stout, the bitterness is perfect and the richnrss of the apperance comes through in the flavour. The taste and apperance match perfectly. DragonsHead (137), Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured black with a weak tan head. smelled a bit like a sushi joint, vinegar. Lots of roasted malt with some hop notes. Tastes a bit like a RIP without the alcohol. Nice drink to change it up. altonbrownd (1962), Amsterdam, Netherlands
