Commercial Description:
You want bitter? You got it! Very malty with a strong roast barley flavour. Black as pitch and so thick you could just about eat it with a spoon. An excellent stout.

Sampled out of a bottle. Pours nice and dark. Has a lot of good malts and roasted flavors. Color is quite dark and the bubbels have a very nice dark hue.

Pours dark brown with a fizzy quite to dissolve tan head. Smells of roasted malts and caramel. The flavor here is pretty smoky and roasty with a hint of chocolate but it does feel a little watery, the one thing I hate in a porter. Nice burnt aftertaste it leaves with a bitter bite, and smooth. Well balenced.

When this beer is at its best, it is easily one of my favourite stouts. The trouble lies in its inconsistency. You might taste the world’s best stout in one bottle or pint from the tap on one occasion and then something that almost makes you gag the next. It is a beer that cries out to be aged!! Age this beer for a year and what you have is essentially Coopers special old stout (now discontinued unfortunately) as the recipe for both was the same. At its best, this beer boasts a huge chocolate mudcake flavour. At its worst, the beer is watery and horribly bitter.

Bottled. Pours black with a medium brown head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, and bourbon. Flavor is a smooth chocolate with coffee flavors and a hint of bourbon. Very smooth and milky. Strong but mellow flavor profile. The malt body is the only real weakness. A little bit too watery, yet still superb.

Pours an opaque black color with a small tan head. Nose is creamy/lactic, sweet malt, roasted malt, some fruits. Initial taste begins creamy and lactic from the nose with deep roasted malts, black coffee and a touch of smoke. Finishing with continuing mild hint sof smoke and cocoa. Light to medium body. average palate duration. Good head retention and mild chalky finish. Interesting.

BOttle 37,5 cl. Pours pitch black with a small tan head and the smell of coffee. The taste is creamy and slightly sweet, not bitter at all as the comercial description promisses. This is a very smooth-drinking stout, but there’s not too much taste to be found in here
