The taste is creamy and slightly sweet, not bitter at all as the comercial description promisses. This is a very smooth-drinking stout, but there’s not too much taste to be found in here cheapdark (2050), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 21, 2008 Twist off cap brown bottle. Silky brown black pour with a tan head. Nice looking initial carbonation within. thick and roasty on the palate. Has a hint of alky bit for the most part has a decent stout flavor, not over the top on bitter as stated in the description. Good appreciated carbonation on the palate. An overall experience that starts off with a mildly metallic chocolaty aroma then morphs into a taste of charred old partially burned wood. Fun. Much better than other foreign stouts especially Lion. Marsiblursi (1659), Göteborg, Sweden

The aroma is medium roasted and light burned with tones of chocolate cream, roasted nuts, black coffee, light smoke, tobacco, dark syrup, brown sugar, mild tar and light asphalt. Bit sweet with undertones of dark fruits like prunes and raisins but also some hints of earth, herbs and berries. The flavour is medium roasted with tones of chocolate, coffee, light smoke, some liquorice, subtle notes of dark berries and fruits alongside hints of tar and asphalt. The mouthfeel is soft and light velvety with a tickling carbonation. Light to medium sweet. Light bitter with a medium afterbitterness of both hops and roast. Bit acidic. Aftertaste of smoke, dark fruits, dark juicy bread and watery, dark syrup. Medium bodied. Nice. Joakgust (338), Stockholm, Sweden

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 18, 2008 poured from bottle. Appears a deep brown with chunky yeast bits and a thin brown head. Frothy lacing. Aroma of black coffee, charcoal roasts, molasses. Palate is medium-thin, with bubbly carbonation. Flavor is of coffee, charred wood, mild oyster sauce (great assessment troopie!). Mid-palate also contains sweeter chocolate notes that caught me off guard. Finishes very dry. So dry it feels empty as a black hole. I would have it again when in the mood for a dark, dry, lonely, bitter stout. Rciesla (3880), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
