Orama of malt, sugar and toast. Bittersweet chocolate, malt and dry fruit notes, Finish is bittered, a little salt and some oyster sauce. Texture is just right. kidmartinek (1001), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 12, 2008 Dark black beer, with lots of suspended brown sediment throughout the column. Very unusual, kinda like their sparkling ale. The head pours a half inch but dissipates in a minute. Smells like bitter, pale malts, sweet roasted barely, sugar, sweet fruit, and chocolate. Taste has sweet, medium dark fruit notes, dry fruit, cocoa, and sugar. No lacing. Body is medium, bordering on thick. Finish resembles dark fruit, plum or cheryr perhaps. This is an unsuspecting beer, but enjoyable nonetheless. mybestfriend (262), Gothenburg, Sweden
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours a black colour with a brownish head. Aroma is a bit smoky - made me think of smoked ham - with some tar and coffee. There is also a quite obvious note of nail polish. Flavour is a bit smoky and roasted with notes of coffee, raw sugar snaps and some nail polish. The finish is roasted and a bit woody with some bitterness. renffisch (520), london, Greater London, England

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 2, 2008 I had this add a Friday afternoon company mixer. This means I was drinking it straight from the bottle, so I really couldn’t judge appearance and the aroma would likely be a point or two higher if I was able to drink it from a glass. Still, a nice stout with that familiar coffee-caramel taste. I woul ddefinitely like to try this again.
