Commercial Description:
You want bitter? You got it! Very malty with a strong roast barley flavour. Black as pitch and so thick you could just about eat it with a spoon. An excellent stout.

Black with a small off-white head. Licorice, molasses and caramel in the aroma. Sweet flavour with molasses, and a roast malt dryness in the finish.

Nearly black pour with caramel tones shining through. Very creamy tan head. Vinous nose, sweet and grapey, reminds me of an old ale almost. Flavor is smokey, some chocolate and bitter coffee. Body is lighter than expected almost watery really, finish is also a bit thin with some roasty smokey flavors. Not bad at all really.

Biere plutot ordinaire.

Sweet dark chocolate aroma with some roasted caramel notes. Dark brown, nearly black in color with a light brown head. I thought it had a fairly thin body which makes it easy to drink, with a nice smoky chocolate flavor. I found there to be very little bitterness in the aftertaste. Pretty well rounded beer.

355ml bottle. Pours dark brown/black, crispy brown head, no lace. Smells dark and roasty malty and dry as well. Tastes toasty, roasty malty and dry, slightly sour tasting as well. Slightly bitter sweet chocolate flavor. Thinnish, dry body, vibrant carbonation.

Bottle from Corks, Bristol. Opaque black in colour with a short-lived tan head and plenty of carbonation. Aroma of coffee and dark chocolate. Flavour was bitter with some liquorice and a roasted malt finish. Very good.
