Commercial Description:
You want bitter? You got it! Very malty with a strong roast barley flavour. Black as pitch and so thick you could just about eat it with a spoon. An excellent stout.

Pours jet black with no visible light passing through, but I poured it a touch aggressively and can see chunky sediment suspended in its inky blackness...interesting. The head is about a finger of beige cream which collapses to a thin cap and laces in patchy sheets. The nose is of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, charcoal, and a hint of dried figs. Medium-bodied with silky, soft carbonation transitioning to a slightly astringent, bitter, roasted and moderately dry finish. Dark chocolate, roasted malt, dark roast coffee and light ash segue into a roasted, bitter-hopped finish. This is a pretty tasty beer. The astringency at the finish and the lingering dryness after the swallow are the only things keeping me from scoring this brew even higher.

Black with a thick foamy head. Smells of coffee, eucalyptus, mint and dried fruit. There is very little flavor here, but at least it doesn’t taste watery. There is some herbal taste, and more eucalyptus. No aftertaste at first, but after a few sips, I started to get a chemical taste in my mouth. Medium bodied. Blah.

Pours near black with a nice creamy beige head. Oily raisin, licorice, dark vinous malt aroma, sweet. Flavor is a little different, smokey, roasted malt, peat, all very light. No finish what-so-ever or aftertaste. This is like a sparkling porter more than a stout. Crispy soda like body, very thin and well carbonation. eh...

Coopers Best Extra Stout is a black stout with a fine chocolate head. The aroma is roasted with notes of chocolate and great malts. The flavor is dominated by the roasted malts with sweet coffee and chocolate. The finish is very nice and ligth without becomming watery or loosing flavor.

Black (maybe superdark brown) with a small tan head, in turn mostly diminishing. Aroma of sweet chocolate, soured milk and banana. Fizzy in palate with metallic aftertaste. Light in body. The flavour is slightly bitter with a burnt, tary, dark chocolate taste. Hints of lakrits and caramel.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a small tan head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is roasted malt and chocolate. The taste is a rich roasted malt with a sweet finish. A good stout from coopers

Bottle - 355ml. Opaque black body with low carbonation and a thin brown creamy head. Good malty/hoppy aroma with dark chocolate and roasty hints. Enjoyable malty/hoppy taste that carries roasty notes and ends with a dry, bitter/roasty finish. This reminds me some Czech or East German dark lagers. Good stuff.
