Very nice beer with a light smoke aroma and a nice taste of the roasted malt, coffee and liquorice. Reminds me a bit of Lion Stout and both these beers are very price worthy. ante (2969), Stockholm, Sweden

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 2, 2008 Pours dark black with a small brown head that disappears rather fast. The nose is licorice and toasty, roasted malts. Nice dark chocolate also. Definite dark roast on the flavor. Has a nice finish without being burnt or too bitter. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 2, 2008 375ml bottle: Pours inky black with a creamy dense dark tan head. Big sweet chocolate aromas that are nicely balanced with roast. The roast doesn’t quite make it to burnt. Nice malt notes with just a touch of sweet sherry. In the mouth it is quite tame compared to the aroma. smooth chocolate with lightly roasted grains. The high carbonation then kicks in and pushes roast through your nasal cavities. This becomes a full blown stout in the aftertaste, but is always just a bit too mild upfront. Cold brewed coffee with a dose of cocoa powder. A very slight bubblegum hides out in the finish. Perhaps a bit thin but nice overall. ekstedt (2448), Göteborg, Sweden
