| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 9, 2008 bottle. pours a black coffee colour. Aroma is malty, yeasty, burnt caramel and rye bread. Frothy chocolate covered head, settling to a think lace. Flavour is some rye with a bitter/cola like compliment, High AVB% aftertaste is of tannins, finished like wine, bitter. A smidgeon watery for a stout? Still a decent quality, complex sort of a stout. CanIHave4Beers (912), Des Moines, Iowa, USA

Robust nutty & yeasty aroma. Color is very deep lack, when held up to my lamp very little light gets through. Attractive tan head diminishes somewhat, but sticks around and leaves a decent lace. Flavor is different and good. Flavors of nuts robust malt, and light oak. Reminds me of a dark robust English bitter. Very smooth with a sharpness o the tip of the tongue. Very good beer. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/20 | Mar 6, 2008 Pours black with lots of sediment floaties being pushed around by constant streams of bubbles from the bottom of the glass. Huge head that settles to a nice thick covering of khaki foam that leaves big clumpy lacing.
Smells very sweet and yeasty. Banana, marshmallow, toffee, mild clove or nutmeg spice scents.
Sweet flavors similar to the nose, banana and marshmallow with some chocolate and bit of coffee underneath. Mildly dry finish that balances well.
Smooth and creamy mouthfeel, despite all the carbonation, thanks to the bottle conditioning; but still feels kinda weak. Overall, this stout reminds me a lot of a dopplebock with its medium body and soft yeasty character. brianprentiss (475), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 5, 2008 this was a really excellent beer, my first foreign stout I think. It poured beautifully and had a thick grayish head. It had a smokey, charred, coffee taste but also had some sweetness to balance. Very good overall. MattShizzle (385), Bernville, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 1, 2008 So what do you say about this. A bit of a disappointment. Pours black, with a thin head. Aroma is decent. Roast malts, coffee, and chocolate. Flavor tries to emulate, but just doesn’t do it. It’s light, for a stout, the flavors didn’t blend well on the palate either. I may try it again, but I doubt it. I forgot who got this, I think it was Droid, just wanted to say thanks.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 29, 2008 A dark brown pour with a dense tan head that dissipates pretty quickly. A light roast with a bit of sourness in the aroma; flavor pretty much the same, roast coffee and a fairly pleasing sourness. A bit light in the body. Dry finish. Solid, not stellar.
