Aromas of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate and vanilla. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bitter chocolate, roastiness, coffee and light vanilla with a smooth lingering bittersweet finish. Rich coffee roast aroma (don’t have it ice cold). Significant bitterness from POR hops and roasted grain but backed with solid malt flavour. Long dry, bitter finish. Good warmth from alcohol. Great to sip on cold nights. Best stout produced by a large brewery in Australia IMHO. rudolf (1783), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 15, 2007 Bottle. Must be missing something here, couldn’t see much to put this above the rest of the stout brigade. Tick all the boxes though. Flavour is robust, but mostly just burnt coffee with an emphasis on the burnt. M0RHI (1067), Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Nose is well malted and roasted malts present. Coffee and some dark chocolate also. Peppery spices. Mouth is very malty again, with lots of roasting going on and some sweet creamy flavour. Some espresso in there too that lasts to give a nice bittery finish. Quite good almosi (279), Viña del Mar, Chile
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 7, 2007 Has a dark brown color, opaque good. The head is of average size and of a color beige palely. The aroma is well malty, where an aroma stands out to roasted coffee.
The flavor is strong, but correct. There is coffee, brown malt and something of flavor to sweet vanilla. In the palate the aftertaste is sweet, of fruits, but with an excellent bitterness, very rightly. Good beer.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 4, 2007 Tasted 7/14/2007. 12.7oz bottle. Opaque brown hue. But I can still see the moderate amount of sizable sediment. Ring of beige head. Aromas of anise and peppermint oil. Cinnamon cocoa and berries. Raisins and grassy mixed with a bready syrupy note. Lotta nose! Medium bodied with a great complexity. Good malts with cocoa and dark chocolate notes. Fruity undertones with a faint whisp of blueberries. Decent effervescent that leaves the gums tingling. Good melding of the palate. Sweet malts then tart fruits into bitter citrus. Vanilla nuances. Medium coffee acidity. Touch of raisins mixed into the sticky finish. This was fun to drink! Well done!
