Commercial Description:
You want bitter? You got it! Very malty with a strong roast barley flavour. Black as pitch and so thick you could just about eat it with a spoon. An excellent stout.

Nice brownish head. Berry aroma. Low caramel taste with a low berry taste also. Super burnt flavor. Dry. Excellent stout.

Bottle. Fizzy black color with a small light brown head. Not as strong as I thought it would be, but still delightful.

Wow. Seemed the strong carbination kind of takes away from crisp, somewhat nutty flavor.

Bottle. Pours pure black with short dark brown head. Head leaves sparse lacing. Not a whole lot in the nose, slight smell of chocolate and malt. Tastes is strong espresso, with a bit of nuttyness. Very full mouth feel.

Purchased at The Cellars (Eagan), 2/19/07. Chocolaty and smooth, not very bitter, with a crisper feel than most stouts. Opaque, lightly fizzy, with a slightly sour finish.

Bought this in Henderson Nevada at Lees. An excellent and although it is bottle conditioned it didn’t seem like there was a lot of lees. Seemed very bubbly to me. Page 125 of Michael Jackson’t Great Beer Guide and 425 out of 500 Classic Brews to go.

Bottle. Opaque black color with a light fizzy, quickly fading head. Burnt chocolate, espresso in flavor. Full bodied but not creamy providing a great mouthfeel. Its got a great balance of sweet malts and bite. I would have to say close to one of the best stouts I have had out of a bottle.

Bottle -- Pours deep black with a small head that soon dies off. Aroma is rich in malt, coffee and... sarsaparilla. Plenty of roasted notes, coffee and chocolate in the flavour with a round, friendly mouthfeel with some carbonation. Well balanced and a really enjoyable stout.
