Warms the palate, not thick but so full of flavor that it dominates the entire mouth. A combination of fine flavors, none of which completely dominates. Coffee is perhaps the strongest - a very fine roasted, smooth coffee flavor persists throughout. Nice alcohol presence, as well, a trace of quality spirits underlies everything else. This is a wonderful concoction that keeps your mouth and your mind busy, it begs to be drunk slowly. It’s just a little different from most stouts I have tried, it certainly falls within the stout classification, but, like other Coopers brews, it seems to edge towards a delicious style all its own. Best beer found on this little nice thai-island. Dark chocs, roasted coffee and great mouthfeel. Oily look. Just great from Down Under! Delirium (502), Santa Cruz, California, USA

Pours black with a medium dark tan head, and a pretty noticeable amount of black, grainy sediment. Aroma is sweet and roasty, with dark fruits, chocolate, coffee, a bit of spiciness, a whiff of alcohol, and maybe some yeast. Flavor is dark fruits, malt, and coffee up front, getting more roasty towards the finish, and ending somewhat bitter. Medium body, with a somewhat astringent and even gritty (tarry?) palate. The aroma and beginning has a bit of imperial stout character, but the finish is considerably weaker. Pretty good on the whole. colortheorist (12), Somerville, Massachusetts, USA

Figured it’s be next to Guiness in flavor, but much more mature, required alot more concentration, fuller body, more to be experienced. The taste is deep and lasting. jordanb (19), Virginia, USA

A bit of a weak khaki-colored head and very spicy aroma and taste. Not as mouth-filling as a stout should be. A spicy aftertaste that seems a bit out of place. An all-around average stout, worthwhile if you can’t find anything better. I got a six-pack of bottles for $5.95 because it was on sale, and it was definitely worth that much. Even a bit more expensive and I wouldn’t have bothered, though. Zeswaft (1000), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 28, 2006 a moderately good stout, more carbonated than i prefer (is that common with cooper brews?). i was told while drinking this that it is a bit darker and more full bodied than guinness. i don’t necessarily agree with that. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA
