Little aroma, but what a taste - full bodied, complex taste with cofee being the most significant, besides some slight fruity and herbal flavurs mix with roasted malt. Dry end. Awesome, splendid stout. kimcgolf (832), Dacula, Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 11, 2006 I enjoyed this beer in that Cooper’s didn’t feel like they had to make this syrupy thick or sweet to be a good stout. Pours from the bottle to an opaque black, with dark tan head that lingers and yields to good lacing. Aroma is malty chocolate-toffee, and taste is more of the same. A good medium bodied stout, that leaves a nice smooth finish. JohnnyJ (1312), Carlsbad, California, USA

Aroma of strong roasted coffee. Predominant flavor of sweetened roast coffee along with smokey malt and a little chocolate. Quite sweet with a full mouthfeel. Well done coopers. lunatic77 (14), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA

Poured black with a small head, coffee notes are definatelty present as is a slight smokiness, tasted again of a burnt, dry coffeeness with a lively bitter bite throughout, I really liked this. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 30, 2006 Big coffee scent up front, with liquorice and milk chocolate, black, pours a large cappuccino head, which slims down, but leaves some lace. Taste begins with a deep roast coffee, melded with liquorice and followed by dark chocolate and brazil nuts. Medium to full bodied, quite bitter, leaves the tongue feeling as though I had espresso, slightly acidic. Terrific! lagermonkey (597), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 26, 2006 Pours an opaque dark brown with a quarter-inch creamy brown head. Smells milky and chocolatey, light coffee aroma.
Taste is smoky and bitter coffee. Some malty sweetness. Not much hint of the chocolate from the nose. mouth is a bit thinner than expected with a loong lingering coffe bitterness. Not bad stout they got here, well above average. GreatLibations (1444), Last Supper, Arizona, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 24, 2006 I love the commercial description. Pours thick black w/ a shallow spritzy froth. Aroma is full w/ malt, coffee, and chocolate. Full nectar w/ mellow residual effers. Flavors are chunky and full w/ big cocoa, coffee, tobacco, and earth. Perect bttering on the finish w/ some charcoal. Overall: very decadent. Like it says, you can almost eat it with a spoon. Highly recommended.
