Nose is mild, but flavor is stronger. Sort of like coffee with sugar in it. Smooth mouthfeel, and clean and pleasant going down. A very decent stout. Braudog (3763), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 1, 2006 Nice roasty/toasty aroma on this one. My first swig was sweet ... like over-sugared coffee. It stayed sweet too ... with a light smoky coffeeness as the undertow. Nice little beer with a twinkle of a heavy beer’s character, but without being overpowering. Very good. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 27, 2006 Deep black with a nice sized but fizzy light brown head. Aroma is mild but actually reminds of madeira wine. Flavor is lots of roasted malt and dark coffee with a whiff of alcohol and a nice bitter finish. Smooth and medium bodied. A very satisfying stout. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 9, 2006 A back to back stout of decent quality, but not that memorable over the many other good stouts out there. Poured the usual, same old usual head. The aroma was somewhat fruity and of chocolate. The flavor did not have fruit in it (thankfully, no idea what I was smelling), was of chocolate, some coffee, very light roastedness (that could have been played up more), and some licorice. Mouthfeel was creamier than I expected, fairly nice.
