Dark chocolate and espresso on the nose with some chalk, sweet fruitiness (and bananas???) and liquorice in the background.
Big rich flavour: huge roasted malt presence, almost burnt, with some sweet alcohol hidden underneath. Finishes with a strong unbalanced roasted bitterness.
Big rich creamy body, some alcoholic heat.
A very ashy, full-on stout EithCubes (2172), Indiana, USA

Aint elegant ,its grimey and flavoursome , with its oily roast malt profile and strange , misplaced pressence of bananas poping out of the glass @ you with enthusiasm. I’d sink this often if I had eazy access to it, but I don’t & I can drink the king of Export/Foreign/Stout ,Lion Stout from Sri Lanka anytime , so who cares ?. BREWMUSKCLES (1089), New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 25, 2009 roasted roasty black malty brew with a touch of licorice in far away cocoa this beer is a bit light in body for the style not at all creamy but rather slickish watery and refreshing. makes sense due to the opposite climes of these familiar peoples. This brew is never the less traditional and yet demonstrative. bit of a soul at the end of each drink which i find the definitive descriptive needed to be considered a really good stout. appropriate alcohol. quite nice. nose of soy sauce. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 18, 2009 Pours black with a dark tan head and big particles. Faint aroma, mostly burnt coffee. Sweet flavor, somewhat chocolate flavor, a little coffee. Not a bad representation of the style, but not very interesting either.
