Commercial Description:
You want bitter? You got it! Very malty with a strong roast barley flavour. Black as pitch and so thick you could just about eat it with a spoon. An excellent stout.

Pours very dark brown with a large coffee colored head. Very sweet . Has an almost coconut aroma to it. A little thin body-wise. Tastes of coffee and chocolate, with some smoky tossed in. Not the best stout out there, but still pretty good.

This stout was enjoyed at The Capital Ale House at Innsbrook in Richmond , VA. The class of 64 was celebrating and we were enjoying some beers. The head was brownish and frothy. The stout was watery and thin. It lacked body and flavor. There was some coffee hints but this was avery pedestrian stout. IT may have been too cold. It was black in pitch but not robust. There have been many more stouts that have exceeded this version.

Rich flavor is full of malts and roastiness. There is also a bit of coffee undertones present and a nice amount of hoppiness. The only flaw may be a little on the thin side for a stout.

Black colored, little beige head. Roasted, smoky, sweet and mildly chocolaty aroma with some vinous tones. Medium bodied. Smoke, roasted, sweet tones in flavor, aftertaste lasts with caramel, coffee plums and sweetness. Fine stout!

The aroma is coffee, toasted malt, chocolate and (Barbecue?). The appearance is a dark brown with a medium foamy tan head. The flavor is just like the aroma but adds bitterness. The palate is thin for a stout. Overall it’s decent.

This is just another coffee stout. OK appearence nice creamy lightbrown head. Mostly deminishing. Sour coffee aroma and taste. Smoked finish. Nothing special here. Very watery palate.

12.7 oz bottle. Pours a dark blood red with a light pinkish head that fades quickly. Very carbonated. Smells chocolatey-sweet and smokey. The tastes has a hoppy bite at first with a smokey, roasted nuts flavor thru the mid-taste. A very earthy finish, with a very thick and lazy palate. My first "foreign stout", with which I’m very impressed.
