| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 10, 2009 Rich and nicely carbonated, with a dark tan head. Doesn’t have the thickness I expected, but has a deep, rich, fruity taste, with a slight licquorice aroma. Bitterness came through towards the end, with a strong hit of cherry thrown in. Went superbly with chocolate aswell....... DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 6, 2009 Smells like chocolate covered banana’s with prunes and a little roasted malt. Nice aroma. Thick, black body with lots of sediment. The small brown head dissapears quickly. Very roasted flavor with chocolate, wood, and a yeast character that brings out various dried fruits. Hints of licorice in a semi-bitter finish. Actually a pretty complex yet drinkable stout. I didn’t like their pale ale, but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I will definitely have this again. floydian1 (289), FNQ, Australia

Roasted malt aromas of mocha and nuts. Flavour is cafe mocha with a hint of liquorice and brine. Full bodied and filling. A subtle bitterness to the finish. Definitely not sessionable. A nice dessert beer.
