| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 26, 2009 Bottle. Opaque and thick-looking but pours with surprisingly little head. Might be the hotel glass to blame. Aroma is coal, chocolate. The palate is fizzy but has good drinkability. Decent coffee flavors, dark chocolate, dry earthy finish. Simple but good malt flavors. Comes just short of having burnt flavors. Slight fruity tang too. michael-pollack (2716), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

Big beige head that fades fairly fast. Aroma has roast malt, vanilla, coffee, cocoa, liquorice, prunes and alcohol. There’s lots of coffee and bitter chocolate flavour. Some burnt notes. Lasting bitter, acid finish. I remember when this was one of a very few decent Australian brews - it still more than holds its own. mirjukka (705), LOHJA, Finland
