Commercial Description:
Birell is a premium brewed malt beverage with virtually no alcohol. It's brewed under licence in Australia by Coopers to a Swiss recipe, using only the finest Australian malted barley, hops and yeast. With no artificial additives or preservatives and negligible alcohol, you can never have too much of this delicious brew.

Aroma is cardboardy with maizy stale overtones. Appearance is clear amber with a decent sized head from pouring that reduces down to a slight surface layer but leaves slightly suddy lacing. Flavour is remotely sweet with heaps of stale corn chips and a hint of hop. Quite watery but drinks fairly clean (no pride of ringwood I am sure). I have had much worse than this and would definately drink it over any CUB macro.

Very good for a NA brewed beverage. Good malty hoppy flavor, bit too sweet. I often drink this when I have to drive the same day and still want to enjoy a beer.

I was extremely surprised by this beer. I wasn't even execting it to taste like beer, let alone taste a lot beter than others. It was 70 cents or so at Woolies. Cheapest youll find!

OK, so the dictionary defines this drink as a beer. But we all know it isn't. The problem therefore is whether we should rate this as a beer and skew the results of other reviews or rate this for what it is, a beer substitute. I have drunk this on days when no-one else will take the car keys and it isn't bad for that reason. I would rather one of these to a basic Aussie light beer. Having said that it does not deserve high points in a beer forum.

Pale gold clear with a medium size, short lasting white rocky island head. Faint plastic, yeast and popcoarn aroma. Watery thin body. Corny, corn sweet and stale light bitter hops flavour - too bad I hate corn flavour in beer.

drinking beer with no alcohol in it is pretty pointless. it is sickly sweet and makes you want to puke. it has no beer flavour and is the first beer i was unable to finish. i bought this from Coles!!

I am quite surprised that some people consider it bad beer. I drank much worse.
