After reading the blurb, I agree. They must have added 1/3 Sparkling Ale, 1/3 Stout, 1/3 water!
NIce sessional winter beer though. DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 19, 2006 Caramel and malt aroma, mahogany, red at the edges, tiny toffee head, some lace. Smokey, almost tobacco flavoured, kilned malt. Medium bodied, notable for a such a low abv, moderately bitter. Very good example! Braudog (3773), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 1, 2006 Poured from the bottle a deep mahogany brown with barely any head. Wood-chippy aroma. Smooth and nutty flavor with just a twirl of a tart finish. bierkoning (6089), La Tropica, Netherlands
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 28, 2006 Dark brown color, very cloudy. Blackcurrant and chocolate in the aroma and flavor. Thin. Short aftertaste. Just a hint of tartness. Nice session ale. johndoughty (2167), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 19, 2006 Not as classsy as their other beers.Brown and poured flat.Reasonable but straightforward flavour but nothing that stands out.Still miles ahead of other Australian brands. yayforbeer (648), Orange Park, Florida, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 18, 2006 12.7 oz bottle. Looked and smelled good, and I was hoping for an excellent brown ale, having had their excellent stout. I was disappointed. Aroma was malt and sweet chocolate. Flavor also had malt and chocolate, and nutty qualities, but not much sweetness. A little caramel present in the mix. Every sip had an metallic flavor along with musty scorched grain at the end. The lack of sweetness and the cheap metallic hops spoiled this beer for me. Its still a drinkable brew, and has some good flavors, but overall stuck at mediocre. presario (3001), Calgary, Alberta, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 8, 2006 Another Cooper’s bought at John’s in Portland. Dark brown. Cloudiness depends on swirling of sediment, or not. Light fizzy head maintained by strong carbonation. Delicate chocolate malt aroma. Light and fizzy in the mouth. Settles down and then the chocolate flavour coats the mouth in the finish. Bockyhorsey (2552), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 4, 2006 Bottle: Aroma had a decent rasted nut scent. Dark body with tan had. Flavor was mediun bodyed with roasty, nut and some chocolate. Had a sample of this beer couple of week ago thought the body was richer in that one. Freshness and temp of beer may make a difference in these Cooper beers.
