Commercial Description:
The flavour lies somewhere between our Sparkling Ale and Stout but the texture and appearance is less syrupy and cleaner. Coopers Dark Ale is top fermented in the traditional manner. A combination of dark and medium-roasted malt produces this rich, flavoursome brew that's especially satisfying in nippy weather.

12oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a very thin, crisp off-white head. Smells dark and malty with hints of sweet molasses. Tastes dark and malty a little bitter up front with a dark sweetness on the finish. Thin mouthfeel with somewhat crisp carbonation.

12.7oz bottle: Pours flat with no head. Dark brown with floating particles galore. Slight sweet, roasted nut aroma. Roasted malty flavor with a hint of mild cocoa. Dry finish. Taste is a little thin and watered down but still a decent offering.

Dark brown beer with a faint off white head. Aroma is sweet and roasty and a similar but watered down flavour, nice but could do with a kick up the ass !

There is no head on this dark brown pour, but it is pretty fizzy. I like Cooper’s no-nonsense circular labels. A good quality malty-floral aroma. It seems like a hoppier than average brown ale, and it has a bold malt presence. Light-bodied and more dry than sweet. A solid brew.

Bottle. Pours cloudy cola brown with a thin fizzy beige head. Aroma is light caramel malt and roasted malt with a touch of fruit. Medium body. Flavor is roasted malt and nutty, also a bit of semi-sweet chocolate. Ok, but pretty weak.

Dark brown pour with a weak beige head. Malty aroma. Malty, coffee flavor. Ok beer, nothing more.

A Mes rate: bottle from Kris Wines.
Dark brown coloured with a thin beige head. Sweet malty aroma with a fair bit of caramel and some faint dusty hops. Tangy malt and fizzy almost alka seltzer flavour. Toffee and nutty in the finish. A little too thin and the flavour fall away a bit because of it. Drinkable but not something I would rave over.

Not very much flavor. I would waist the calories again for this beer. It seems I like their other brews better.
