| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 29, 2007 Pours a cloudy and hazed brown with a head that doesn’t stick around at all. Nose is malty and caramel sweet. Flavor is a fair bit of coffee, but a lot of bitter on there too which I think detracts. As you go on the bitter leaves and the smoother coffee tones dominate more so. As time goes on, even those tones get washed out by a watery flavor profile. Potential, but doesn’t come through when it needs to. Feel is a bit lower on carbonation. On the liquid level it is fairly average. Overall a fairly low performance on this one. I can’t say this is really worth cracking open. WISEGUY572 (1246), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 4, 2007 Nose of sweet roasts, more Coca Cola than beer. Brown pour, no head, no lace. Taste of a little malts, barely discernible that this is a dark beer, a little hops, maybe, but no bitterness, but without the hateful spoiled taste of its lighter cousin. I can’t imagine drinking the rest of this one or even cooking with it ... this one will be sacrificed as a source of steam for my smoker. jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA

Earthy chocolate aroma, a bit of that rustic Coopers sour note. Gentle brown bread roast, bright carbonation. Dry finish. Unimaginative, but still enjoyable. garthicus (1290), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

A nutty flavour with a definite hint of chemicals. Not sure what to make of it. Somewhat enjoyable, somewhat not. downender (2592), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 22, 2007 Bottle. This didn’t press any of my buttons. Cloudy brown with a moderate head. Aroma of molasses. thin in the mouth, with a flavour of dark fruits and next to no finish. Disappointing. Beese (79), Watford, Hertfordshire, England
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jul 20, 2007 Pours a dark brown with very little head. A slight aroma of coffee and burnt wood. A lot of carbonation, the bubbles made it quite harsh on the tongue. Initial taste was a little malty, but also quite bitter. Practically no aftertaste, it was rather watery. Dissapointing, considering the high quality of all the other Cooper’s beers I’ve tried.
