Definately improves with age, (there all green here!)
The more I drink it, the better it gets.
If you have to deal with devil for this, that’s OK sell you soul, reasonable value there.

This dark ale doesn't have any harsh , Full flavored bad tastes. It Reminds me of the German Dunkle style. Clean and Crisp. The Aroma is ver natural with no chemical overtones. Very natural. Strong Recommend!!! grant60 (185), Perth, Australia
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 17, 2002 this is refreshing and clean tasting for brown ale. it doesn’t have the same burnt taste that some have, and it blends a very mild sweetness with a nice flavour and slight bitterness. Dark cloudy brown with small golden bits (it’s bottle conditioned). Chocolaty flavor, some malt, some hop. Tiny bubbles, but a bit thin. Finishes a bit dry, with a hint of sour, then the chocolate returns. Really pleasant, and not at all harsh like most American browns. Octopussy (50), Adelaide, Australia

For those of you who aren’t into stout and are reluctant about trying dark ale, don’t be you’ll be pleasantly surprised. I’d say it is more of a winter brew than a summer refresher. Also much better on tap than in a bottle which has a much less distinct flavour. Screech99 (34), Australia

Deep dark caramel colour with a consistant centimeter of light foamy head. A slight chocolaty, carmally flavour turns nutty as it goes down, which it did very well.
- (Bottle, stood upright and refrigerated one week) I’ve found most bottle-conditioned brews taste better if they are left upright about a week in the fridge before drinking. It doesn’t seem to affect this beer much, but I did notice a difference. You can see the yeast in the bottom of the bottle if you hold it up to a light. It pours smooth into a glass and has more of a deep ruby colour than what I had on tap. The flavour was much the same, but tended more toward the nutty. An easy drink that still tasted alright when the last had gone English. I noticed the longer one of these is left in the fridge, the better it tastes! For a dark ale, this one is tops!
