Poured a hazy pale gold, with a short lived lather of white foam. Aroma of green apples and grass, with a little of Cooper’s famous yeast notes and a hinkering of malt as it warmed. Flavour was like gripping chalk between your teeth, Little malt character and low hop tones made for a rather surprising turn for Cooper’s. This questionable beer, with its soapy undertones, has marred the proud ales of this brewery for me. There is little ’heritage’ at all in this one. IJT (40), Carterton, England

The brew is easy to drink and generally soft and smooth. The beer has nowhere near the complexity of the bottle conditioned ales, yet is still drinkable. Stew41 (1054), Caulfield, Australia

Fairly commercial palate, refreshing, has zing. some sweetness from the malt. Very clean, a fraction boring but is refreshing. WYSIWYG (20), Melbourne, Australia

Very fruity, sweet apple aroma. Somewhat typical coopers fruity flavour, but with a nice mellow hop finish and a hint of alcohol. Nemo (100), Fremantle, Australia

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 20, 2004 Bottled, in sunny Sydney. Bright golden body with a white shiny head serviced efficiently from below. Grain’y, adjunct aroma, similar to the Eastern European beers of Poland and Slovakia. Malty flavour with plenty of unsubtle alcohol up front. Warming with a sweet palate the beer does not leave you with a sense of value or exclusiveness that perhaps the marketing hype might want you to. KBeer (117), Chicago, Illinois, USA
