| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 8, 2006 Bottle shared with and courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a hazy golden-yellow with an average size semi-lasting foamy white head with lots of floaties. Sweet aroma of grain, yeast, fruit, honey and hops. Flavour of fruity malt, yeast and honey finishes with a mild spicyness and light bitterness. Light bodied. Not quite on style for a Pale Ale but it’s still decent enough and easy to drink. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 8, 2006 Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy, my bottle. Poured murky yellow with huge chunkies, decent foamy-fluffy white lasting head. Smells like a standard, if slightly grainier than usual international "pale ale" - by that I mean I get light malt, light yeast and dry, floral hops, hints of citrus and a little earthy. Taste isn’t bad - a fair bit of citrus to the malt, the hops are very mild indeed, and the malt is quite sweet - but the chunkies didn’t resolve into anything nasty, and there’s no corn or chemicals that I can detect - this is pretty good, actually! Mouthfeel is lively yet oddly flat (lively yes, carbonated, not really), a little sticky and too quick off the tongue, and the aftertaste is a little harsh - overall enjoyable, certainly a 3, and I suspect way better on tap. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 8, 2006 Pours a slightly hazy light golden color with a medium white frothy head that lasts for some minutes and leaves a small lacing.
Aroma is rich in yeasty, fruity notes showing a "Belgian" profile. There are traces of apricots, banana, honey and soft spices. Unfortunately the flavor is not up to par with the hoppy bitterness of a German Pilsener, hints of banana and maybe too much yeast. Not really bad but not good either since this is supposed to be a Pale Ale.
Light bodied and a bit overcarbonated. The finish is decent though and leaves a mild aftertaste. Watery texture. I’ll stick with the Sparklling Ale better. kimcgolf (835), Dacula, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 24, 2006 12 oz. bottle. Poured a cloudy, golden yellow, with a the residue of fermentation suspended in the bottle. Very little head or lacing, which kept this score from going higher. Started out slightly bitter, but settled in around mid-bottle, to a nice smooth tasty beer with a good finish. Not quite qwhat I expected from a Pale Ale, almost more like a Weiss at the end, but at on 4.5% abv, I could, and probably will, drink several on a hot day this summer. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 22, 2006 Grainy malts, honey, wet hay and a mildly funky note in the aroma. Hazy golden body is topped by a low white head that recedes to ring. Grainy cereal malts up front are joined by mild herbal hops and mild finishing bitterness. Light-medium body with fair carbonation. Bottle (Best After 140505) sampled with MartinT, Olivier_MTL, Rastacouere and Siroy. AlabastorJones (765), San Francisco, California, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 18, 2006 Pale yellow orange with poor head retention. Lots of yeast sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Very mild grassy/fruity aroma. Flavor is mild throughout with some grassy hop, some nobel hop. Sharp top of the tongue bitterness, but not strong bitterness. Slightly metallic. Not bad, but I wouldn’t call it good. Might be a good BMC stepping stone.
