Pours light yellow-gold, relatively clear overall given the amount of floaty sediment.
The taste aroma is champagne and straw; the taste is mild but fairly clean and pleasurable, almost pilsnery, hints of fruit, a nice dry finish, not grainy like one might have expected. The palate is rather watery with abundant fizzy carbonation.
I can see how this would make a good hot-summer-day cookout beer. I’d be perfectly happy to work my way through a sixpack on a lazy afternoon at the beach.
Tap in Canberra. Pretty drinkable, much as described above, extremely highly carbonated, not as good as the better local amber/pale/india pale ales. freekyp (906), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 1/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Jan 28, 2006 A musty aroma with a hint of mango tops this sludgy bottle conditioned number. Lightly carbonated with no head to speak of. Somewhat watery without much malt character, this ale is a bit fruity with a dry tingly finish. It doesn’t look good, it doesn’t really tast4e good. Disappointing. Lunkie (1020), Glen Iris, Australia
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 17, 2006 Hoppy malty aroma. Cloudy yellow colour with fair to poor head and lacing. Sweet malt hop flavour. Very nice. Smooth palate. dhshool (22), Richmond, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 15, 2006 12.7 oz bottle from Beers Around The World Kit (Christmas gift).
The color of the beer looks good, a dark gold yellow, but is very cloudy with yeast particles floating around, almost like a German Wheat beer. Nice thick head subsides to absolutely nothing in about a minute with no lacing whatsoever. Very faint aroma. Tastes more carbonated than it looks, slightly bitter, slightly fruity (lemon), with a mild yeast aftertaste. Not quite as hoppy as most pale ales I’ve tried. I think it is decent, but as I am mostly a pilsner drinker, most pale ale fans may not find it flavorful enough. Likeburning (149), Franklin, Tennessee, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 1/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 9, 2006 I would haverated this beer higher if it wern’t for the appearance. This is the worst looking beer I have ever had. I could see the particles of yeast swimming with the carbination. After less than a minute there was a significant sediment in the bottom of my glass. Granted the beer did not taste as yeasty as it looked, but it is still unexcuseable. I can brew cleaner beer at my house. anders37 (4796), Malmö, Sweden
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 5, 2006 Bottle. Cloudy pale yellow colour with long lasting white head. Malty yeast aroma. Flavor is a bit hoppy with some citrus hints and maltiness. Some yeasty aftertaste. Could be much better.
