Commercial Description:
Bottle & keg; Unfiltered.
Ingredients: Water, Barley, Hops, Yeast.
"With its fruity character, and robust flavour, Coopers Pale Ale is perfect for every occasion. Naturally fermented in the 'Burton-on-Trent' style, a secondary fermentation creates the trademark sediment that gives 'Pale' its fine cloudy appearance. This cloudy residue can be stirred through the beer by tipping or rolling the bottle before drinking."

It poured a very cloudy gold due to the bottle conditioning. The aroma is a bit sweet with a skunky tint. Due to the lack of taste and high carbonation its like drinking club soda with a hop or two thrown in for good measure. The Bud Light bottle conditioned comment by Jack_Landers was right on for this beer.

Tasted 17/02/2004. 375ml bottle fermented stubbie from Rumble’s, Wellington (a really ugly modern looking bottle, some marketing guy probably sold it as "sexy"). Depending on how much of the bottle you pour, this has one of two appearances: a bright gold with some hanging yeast or a dirty murky mashed over-ripe banana with muddy puddle. I love that look. An airy white head releases a slightly corny light malt aroma, some vegetal notes and a yeasty fruitiness. Slightly skunky Australian hops detected too. Very light mouthfeel and high carbonation for a pale ale, definitely a hot weather version. Flavour is a very crisp, dry and hoppy with hints of stonefruit. Bitter in the middle with a slightly sharp note from the yeast. Tastes better than it sounds and grows on me. There’s a load of brown gunk left in the bottom of the glass. Amazing that these guys have done so well in Australia where the average punter would be scared of anything slightly murky in their beer.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with lots of floaties in there. Aroma is kind of skunky with some burnt notes to it. Flavor is a wee bit of hops and then nothing but water. Very dissapointing.

For a pale ale this one has a fair bit of flavour. Nice colour and head when poured (as opposed to just pouring ti down my neck). I am a bit of a coopers fan and quite enjoued drinking this one, great on a hot day!

Ever wonder what Bud Light would taste like if it was bottle conditioned? Me neither, but I found out anyway when I tried this lame, tasteless excuse for a pale ale. Coopers forgot 2 things when they made this beer: malt and hops. This beer has no flavor or character whatsoever. A total waste of $11 for a 6 pack. Coopers owes the entire beer-drinking community an apology for this one.

Wow, Coopers likes their beers to be crowded. Every one I’ve had, no matter how carefully poured, is alive with yeast residue swirling about. Be that as it might... this one has a friendly, juicy-fruit nose with apples and cherries and oranges. Soft in the mouth, it’s got those same fruity flavors, leaving you with a sweet fruity finish. It’s okay.

Pours a two-finger white head that goes quickly leaving nothing. Cloudy amber color with a lot of chunky bits. Medium carbonation and light bodied. Nose is faintly hoppy. Starts with a light mix of hops and malts with the hops dominating, hoppy finish but not a lot of flavor. $1.80 for a 375ml bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, MA. Best by 11/28/05.

Pale yellow colour with slim, soon gone head. Aroma is light hops and malts. Taste is sort of dull, as in not sharp and not particularly interesting. Little aftertaste, watery mouthfeel. Disappointing.
