Taste is sort of dull, as in not sharp and not particularly interesting. Little aftertaste, watery mouthfeel. Disappointing. maeib (4748), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 17, 2005 Bottled. A yellow/gold coloured beer with a typical light soapy BC aroma. The taste is clean but dull, very reminiscent of an English bog standard golden Summer Ale. Disappointing. MiP (9097), Sønderborg, Denmark
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jan 15, 2005 Bottle. Refreshin acidic aroma. Cloudy, looks like hefe-weizen. Also citrusy like hefe, but not fruity. Not very interesting. FROTHINGSLOSH (2030), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jan 11, 2005 Updated: Jun 16, 2006I had only encountered Coopers through their Vintage Ale before, and as I had liked that one considerably I decided to check out some of their other beers. I was pleased to see that this was a bottle conditioned beer. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy amber color with only a minimal sized white head. The aroma was light malt and light hops. The flavor was light malt, a hint of nut and a fairly light nondescript hop presence. I found this one to be noticeably underwhelming. raymow (738), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 8, 2005 Tastes like beer, but that’s about all that I can say. Nothing of note other than a cloudy appearance. AndrewGeoff (27), Australia
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 6, 2005 This beer is the lighter brother to Coopers Sparkling Ale. It has a mild hop / yeast aroma, has a cloudy amber appearance with yeast sediment and a light hop flavour. It is not easy to rate your usual local summer drop. There was a time in Australia when this beer almost stood alone in a vast sea of boring, weak Aussie lagers. Times have changed thankfully and Aussie beer tastes are changing also. I was surprised to see so many very low ratings for this beer but I think culture and climate account for much of it. I love a Chimay or a Duvel, but after 7 consecutive days over 37° C give me a cool refreshing Coopers! It could also be I can’t afford to live solely on imported Belgian beer SG (456), San Clemente, California, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 3, 2005 Hazy, light yellow hue. This is an ale? Almost tastes like a bottom-fermented macro lager. Overall it’s’ not too bad, kind of a weird tangy flavor on the finish. Subtle hop bitterness and citrus flavor, subtle being the key word. Drinkable for sure, but that is the best compliment I can give it. The labeling is a tease because it built my expectations higher than what I got out of it. mj23 (63), south holland, Illinois, USA
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 1/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jan 2, 2005 Very cloudy large bits of sediment. Aroma almost nonexistent. Head and lacing at a minimum. No hops that I could smell disappointing beer.
