DuffMan (1962), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Sep 10, 2007 This has been retired for a while, but in updating my label collection since my latest trip to Oz I found my notes on this one from 2 years ago. My notes say: "WTF? why would Coopers bother? stinky and overprocessed." In the face of the other fine ales they make, it’s no wonder this one didn’t last. duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Oct 19, 2005 Draught@National festival Of Beers, Brisbane, 03’. Not very good at all. Wheres the flavour? Watery, soft, and a little bit fizzy, not much going on. DrunkenCumquat (86), Canberra, Australia Aug 29, 2005 Bottled as Regency Draught. Straight, simple pale lager that doesn’t offend too much, nor does it inspire. Easily better than Carlton Draught, but that’s saying pretty little. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Jun 10, 2005 Updated: Jul 14, 2005Bottled (labelled Regency Draught). Pale golden, small head. A light flavoured beer with a light-medium body and a hint of bread and crystal malt. A fair amount of grassy hops make for some late bitternss. Easy drinking beer with no flaws. highlandlad (1200), Sydney, Australia May 24, 2005 Rebranded as Coopers Regency Draught. Poured a hazy gold with a quick-diminishing 1cm head. Un-Cooperslike aroma. The skunkiest beer they’ve produced to date - well done, lads. Faint hints of the house fruitiness but this bottle has a peculiar musty vegetal odour that doesn’t appeal. Plenty of sweet malt upfront on the tongue with a decent shot of Pride of Ringwood bitterness. Tastes better than it smells. Especially if you enjoy a bowl of cornflakes. It’s not unspeakably bad but it’s a mystery why they bother with this sort of stuff.
