A strange honey floral aroma. Some biscuit and apples or pears. Taste is a strange musty spiciness, big yeastiness, some more fruit and honey. ChainGangGuy (2590), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 23, 2009 12 ounce bottle - $1.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a dark, dull orange-hued body gunked up with more than a fair share of over-sized particulate matter. Thin, white head. Now I wish I hadn’t taken a good look at it.
Smell: Mixed bag aroma smelling of fruit, watered down honey, and a dash of alcohol.
Taste: Lightly biscuity maltiness with a light, honeyish sweetness. A big sip of spring water (filled with particulate matter) follows. Fruity tastes of yellow apples and lemons. Spicy hop character with a medium-low bitterness. Slight souring yeastiness. Some juicy acidity on the dry, crisp finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-high carbonation. Yes, it’s even a bit sparkling.
Drinkability: After the deficient appearance, I really took my time with this brew to see if it could redeem itself. It never did. Sour and a bit watery, I just didn’t care for it. Alasdair (76), New Zealand
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 23, 2009 Aroma of over-ripe bananas and brown sugar on toast. Lacks a bit of character, but nice dry finish, with a bit of yeast bite, bitterness, and honey. Gary (352), Buckinghamshire, England
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 22, 2009 Better than most Aussie beers that are exported to the UK. This ale here is well constructed & eazy to sink.Ive found inconsistencies from batch to batch. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a bottle that’s like a Belgian Saison .Spicy and dry.I’m not sure why. Always get loads of sediment swimming around the glass, which is a nice touch. daknole (2975), Plantation, Florida, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 21, 2009 Poured at the Gulfstream beer fest. Light amber pour, small white head. Aroma is malty and some tart fruits(lemon, green apple)..Flavor was not so good IMO. The hops and malt seem to battle each other instead of working in harmony. Too carbonated, and just not enjoyable. j12601 (1308), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 20, 2009 Bottle. Pours a lightly hazed amber with massively large amounts of sediment (I’ll admit to a bit of swirling to get all of that junk out), and a good sized white head. Aroma is a bit of yeast, citrus, hops, and a hint of old cigarettes. Somewhat perplexing. Body is a little on the thin side, but light and crisp with a hint of clean citrus. Finishes rather refreshing, without much bitter. fredthecat (197), Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 18, 2009 smells a little bit like grapes and alcohol and some lemon candy. tastes of lemon, apples, straw grassy, and then a little bit of ripe apple with the sediment stirred up. dark golden with almost no head. a poppy mouthfeel. if it was a tiny bit sweeter it would be much nicer with the flavours. but still a nice beer joshwilfong (788), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Feb 16, 2009 golden with mild white head. not much nose. just a very mild malt flavor, which is similar to the mild hop component; just a little bitterness, nothing else. the mouthfeel does have some depth to it, which is nice. the problem with this is the lack of flavor, there just isn’t enough malt or hop component to make it worthwhile
