Commercial Description:
Coopers Sparkling Ale is brewed naturally by the centuries-old top fermentation method just as it was in the beginning by Thomas Cooper. This beer displays a solid head and a distinctive, full-bodied flavour enhanced by a soft, fruity character and the sediment which gives it a cloudy appearance.

Pours a slightly hazy straw gold with a big sudsy head. The aroma is apple juice (but not cider), cut hay, and molasses. The emphasis is on the apple juice. The mouthfeel is crisp, with medium carbonation. The taste is hoppy and bitter (increasingly so, as the drink is taken care of), caramel, lemon, a touch of cider (instead of apple juice, how strange), and a tad of honey. This ale has an acidic bite to it and I find it a bit too sour. The aftertaste is dry (and tangy). This sparkling ale is decent, to style, and not awful. It’s just not fantastic either. Would likely be good as one in a crowd for a session.

Another cooking beer. OK to steam sausages or something. Inoffensive nose. Good golden haze, small head, no lace. Appearance consistent with thin mouthfeel. Clean, inoffensive taste, with some hoppy finish. Drinkable in a pinch.

375 ml bottle - pours cloudy gold, which probably wouldn’t be as cloudy if I hadn’t agitated the bottle, but that’s the way I wanted it. Nice two-finger white head - the whole thing resembles a weissbier or a Belgian ale. Aroma of yeast, sweet, fruity malt, and some alcohol. Flavour almost like an ESB, with some elements of a weissbier, like that yeasty spiciness. There’s a dry, chalky finish. Nice beer, don’t know what took me so long to try it.

(bottle, thanks Brewfiend) Light cloudy gold color with a lot of carbonation. Light fruity aroma, with nothing else. Flavor was lightly fruity as well with some apple and a bitter finish.

Better aroma than flavor. Dry malt and grass. Some malt in the flavor, no perceivable hops. It does have a nice cloudy orange appearance.

[Bottle, thanks Brewfiend] It’s pretty sad that this was the better of the two Coopers beers I had today, because this was not good. Poured orange with no head. Aroma is weak and grainy. Highly carbonated and grainy taste with a slight taste of hops. This was at least a little thicker and had more hops than the original pale ale.
