Bottle from Johns Marketplace in PDX--Poured a sharp amber-brown body with a quaint little white head. Nutty, grainy, floral nose. Slightly metallic, but not overly so. Thick, fruity, well-balanced. Mild hints of wood and booze. Very nice finish of subtle esters and caramel, honey, and vanilla.

Murky brown pour, thin/filmy off white head, and little bits of lacing around the glass. Strong bourbon scent followed by cocoa and coffee undertones with a bit of banana. Great aroma that is warming and unique. Medium bodied and smooth with a sturdy poignant aftertaste. Lots of deep malt flavors in this treat. Breads and nuts along with toffee and caramel. Mild bourbon flavor to mimic the aroma coupled by a yeasty banana taste and finished with a touch of vanilla. Wonderful and unique creation, a great strong ale that I’d like a few more of.

Pours a cloudy orange with no head or lace. Aroma is nice and sweet, very promising. Nice bite at the start of the sip, but the floor drops out from underneath - where’s that wonderful malty sweetness that I detected in the aroma? Nice bitter finish, warm alcohol notes, overall balanced but that moment when the malt is supposed to kick in never arrives. Good carbonation, thinnish body. This is a good beer, and a strong beer (and isn’t afraid to show it) but I find it a tad watery, and wish that it delivered a maltier punch.

Dark clear amber, short lasting head, carbonated, notes of caramalt, overripe fruit, plumes, very sweet, alcohol in finish.

Pours deep orange, almost brown, and cloudy. Minimal beige head with light retention around the edges. Aroma of sweet apple cider, Demerara sugar, Concord grapes, and spices. Flavour is less impressive, quite sweet with noticeable apple cider and grapes and a light hop back but not much else. Mouthfeel is a little too light for the style in my estimation. Overall not a bad effort though, I may try aging some.

Big malty nose. OK head on a copper body. Taste is big and malty, with a certain sweetness and distinct alcohol punch. Quite smooth. A nice ale.
