| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 7, 2008 Bottle... Poured hazy, ruby with a thin head that dissipated immediately. Aroma is nice, buttery, sweet barley grains and a little bit of hops. Foamy palate but surprisingly smooth and easy to drink, not bad for 7.5%. Flavors of slight chocolate-malt, and sweet buttery, leafy flavors. Some fruit characters but what stuck with me was the buttery, chocolate flavors. Finished sweet and fresh. joet (1708), Fulton, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 3, 2008 Tastes like an American colonial beer. Malty, brown, full of yeast bodies, fizzy and citric in a caramel-heavy body, Some apples and oranges. Unique. A novelty. lithy (1725), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 29, 2008 Dark amber color with a finger of off white lasting head. I didn’t realize this had some sediment so it ended up in my glass. Heavy malt nose and the taste is a smooth but heavy ale that finishes with a dry lasting bitterness. Very nice drink but not session beer, would be difficult to have more than two. jeremytoni (1108), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 18, 2008 From a bottle poured a hazy red/orange with a good bit of settling particulate. Flavor was a very smooth warming sweet flavor, with a lingering finsh. 502Flavors (621), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 16, 2008 12.7 oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a hazy dark honey brown with reddish/orange haze with foamy off-white, light tan bubbly head - I would have given this a 4 or 5 on appearance but: I have had plenty of bottle conditioned beers (and I usually pour the yeast with the beer), but this is rediculous; there are clumps of yeast all along the bottom, floating in the beer, and even sitting in the foamy head -- looks kind of gross. Aroma of orange, booze, sweet port, and more - pretty complex. Flavor wasn’t as complex as I was expecting from aroma, but developed into an impressive and unique flavor on the finish. Not much on the initial mouth flavor, kind of watery with a malty sweetness; subtle hints of hops and a delicious and very unique flavor of cherries (almost red jollyrancher) on the finish. Thin (kind of watery) and silky on the palate; little fizzy carbonation leaves lots of surface area for the palate to grab. Overall, underrated beer. Be careful pouring this one and you will be in for a nice looking, tasting, and feeling beer. Sparky27 (1596), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 14, 2008 Bottle. Vintage unknown but I assume fairly recent (bearded man in the middle of the label). Pours a hazy caramel color with lots of floaters. One finger off-white head. Nose is sweet malts, fruit, nuts and caramel. Palate is dark fruit, malt, molasses, pepper and a bitter hop bite in the finish that I wasn’t expecting given the nose. Medium mouth feel with moderate lacing. Alcohol is not very well hidden in this one. Not bad, but just ok for my tastes. Darkover (1313), Columbus, Ohio, USA
