Great on the palate, full malty flavour not unlike some trappistes (a toned down version), woody almost bourbon type flavours in there? raisin flavours and a dry palate cleansing finish with alcohol. marcus (1911), Sacramento, California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 21, 2008 This copper ale poured with a thin beige head that dissipated quickly. There is a tasty malt flavor with a chalky more bitter finish. georgekappus (296), Brookfield, Connecticut, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 17, 2008 Bottle. Pours a cloudy murky brown with very little head. Aroma was very sweet like flavored sugar. Taste was both sweet and sour. It was too thin for the appearance. Syd (911), Waconia, Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 11, 2008 Bottle (best if used by 10/09/06? - no wonder it was $4.99 a 6 pack) pours a very cloudy almost prune juice color with little head and no lace. The aroma is of dark fruits (plums) and some caramel. The flavor is of mild dark fruits, some caramel notes, and overall very mild. Everything is quite subtle. The palate is pretty rich and very cleansing. Overall, I got what I paid for with some "past its prime" beer. Need to taste it fresh. Bragesnak (2361), Aarhus, Denmark

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 28, 2008 Bottle from Tesco Whitstable. This cloudy mahogany English strong ale had a distinct Belgium vibe - loads of chocolate and dark rummy fruit aromas. The chocolate carries through to the taste, although the sweet dark fruits are rather curtailed. A dollop of Vegemite and alcohol at the end. However in all a good stab by Coopers. 17thfloor (1518), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 24, 2008 [2007 recipe - I assume] Pours thin but dark murky brown with a decent fluffy white head. A good amount of sediment on the bottom. Somewhat fruity aroma, some caramel malts and a touch of hops. Flavor is surprisingly rich considering how thin it is. Sweet fruity vinous caramel malts, slightly toasty. Long slightly bitter metallic rich caramel finish. Very thin body with some fizz. Pretty decent, and quite sweet. With some aging this would be very nice. rustychiles (1071), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 24, 2008 Pours a reddish hazy brown with lots of carbonation and 2 fingers of fizzy head. Aroma of hops, caramel, fruit and honey. The flavors in this one are very subtle but I detect apple, caramel, toffee, grain and hops. Decent brew.
