Pours hazy deep mahogany with thin, bubbly beige head and suspended particles. Nose is cherries, raisins, pears, caramel with very light port wine-like alcohol notes. Flavor is dark luscious fruitiness, textured grains, spices and warming alcohol. Very rich, slightly bubbly mouthfeel. scotty (834), Scotland
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 31, 2008 A fine lookin’ brew! Thick white head, lovely steady bead of tiny bubbles, very slightly hazy, but that’s no problem. Nose is a mouthwatering mix of malt ’n’ hops with a touch of yeast in there too. Full bodied and well balanced, smooth and malty with underlying hop/fruit notes. Good long finish. RichardGretton (3166), Leicestershire, England

The flavour is quite sweet, malty and lightly spiced. Overall an average beer. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 21, 2008 Pours a deep brown with a ridiculous amount of visible sediment and a tiny white head. Earthy malt nose. Big alcohol presence with a tangy bite over semi-swet malt. Medium bodied, fairly smooth. Interesting and good, but lacking a bit in complexity. gam (1123), brisbane, Australia

A sweet smell of caramel and hops. It has a bitter taste that starts strong, but can’t sustain itself. This is a drinkable beer, but not as great as it could be. cgarvieuk (4225), Edinburgh, Scotland
